The Compliance Institute Desktop Communicator, developed by D6 Technology, is a new and efficient way of communicating with members of the Compliance Institute SA.

Once installed, information is automatically updated and sent directly to your computer. You don't need to do anything!

Absolutely. Simply click on the Personalise tab and select the channels that you are interested in. Information can then be filtered by those channels and you will only receive the information posted to your selected channels.

The Desktop Communicator features up-to-date news, a calendar (also updated regularly), a contact list and links to useful resources.

In the main, yes. The News Flashes will still be used to a degree but not as often as they are now. All information contained in any News Flashes will also be uploaded to the Desktop Communicator.

The Desktop Communicator will be our primary source of communication with all members of the Institute.

The Desktop Communicator is provided free of charge to members as part of our continued efforts to provide an efficient means of communication and up to date information. There is no cost for using or installing the Desktop Communicator.

All you need to do is install the Desktop Communicator. That's it. We'll take care of the rest. Content is automatically updated, even if the Desktop Communicator is not currently open. That means the latest information is always at your fingertips.

Simply click on the "download now" button. Once the installation begins, follow the onscreen instructions. If prompted, click Allow to let the installer run. Please fill in your email address when prompted. All email addresses and cell numbers are kept confidential.

No, the Desktop Communicator will not have any significant impact on your computer - it uses very little hard drive space and will not slow your computer down or affect its performance.

There is a workaround for this. If you are having trouble installing the application on your work PC kindly follow the below suggestions:

1. Liaise with your IT department and ask them to install it as the administrator;
2. Contact us on support@d6technology.com;
3. Install on an alternative PC; Remember the communicator can be used on as many PC's as you wish to install it on.

Uninstalling the Desktop Communicator is as simple as installing it. Open your Start menu, find the appropriate folder, and click on the Uninstall icon. This will remove the Desktop Communicator and all associated files from your computer. On a Mac simply delete from the Applications folder.
